Þann 17.05.2018 hittu Stephan og Ute börnin sín Hönnu Žanetu og Jónas Kamil í fyrsta skipti á barnaheimili í Tékklandi. Þau deildu með okkur sögunni sinni og gáfu leyfi fyrir því að deila henni hér.
I don't think that we will ever forget the 17th of May 2018 - even so we cannot remember a lot of details because that day went by so fast. We started with a 1.5 hour meeting with psychologists and social workers. It was hard to concentrate since we knew that after that meeting, we would meet the children - our children.
When Hanna Žaneta and Jónas Kamil finally walked in, they were shy for approximately the first 3 minutes. After the first shyness was overcome, our two bundles of energy did want nothing else but play with us. All these other people in the room (and there were plenty: 3 psychologists, a social worker and our interpreter) were totally forgotten by all four of us. Even so it was a very strange feeling to bring Hanna Žaneta and Jónas Kamil back to their group for lunch, we were grateful for the much needed break. Playing with them was quite a workout. This day was the start of some quite exhausting but very special weeks.
Now after 12 weeks together, we all have gotten to know each other quite well. The children are much more relaxed. It is incredible how much German both of them understand and talk already. We are amazed how different our days as a family of four have become compared to the first weeks.
Umsókn Stephan og Ute var samþykkt af yfirvöldum í Tékkland í 03.05.2016 og voru þau pöruð við Hönnu Žanetu og Jónas Kamil 23.03.2018. Þau voru á biðlista í Tékklandi í tæp tvö ár.
Þetta er önnur fjölskyldan sem sameinaðist með milligöngu Íslenskrar ættleiðingar á þessu ári og börnin orðin þrjú. Nú hafa 38 börn verið ættleidd frá Tékklandi með milligöngu félagsins.
